Iron Phosphate
Product Definition | Orthophosphoric iron is actually iron phosphate, which is an alternative name for iron phosphate. The iron phosphate existing in nature is also called vivianite. The iron in iron phosphate is trivalent iron, mostly in the form of dihydrate. Dihydrate: FePO₄·2H₂O, Anhydrous: FePO₄. It is mainly used for manufacturing lithium iron phosphate battery materials, and can also be used as a catalyst and for manufacturing ceramics, etc. Orthophosphoric iron can also be used as a nutritional fortifier for iron fortification. |
Product Attributes | The color of high - purity iron phosphate dihydrate is nearly white or light yellow - white powder. As the water of crystallization is lost, the color gradually turns yellow, and the pure anhydrous substance is a yellow - white powder. When the phosphorus (P) content in iron phosphate dihydrate exceeds the standard, the appearance is gray - white or dark gray - white; when the iron content exceeds the standard, it is dark yellow. If there are a large number of divalent iron or sodium, potassium, sulfate, ammonium ions in iron phosphate, the iron phosphate dihydrate is dark black or gray - white. Tap density: 1.13 - 1.59 g/cm³, loose bulk density 0.75 - 0.97 g/cm³. It is easily soluble in hydrochloric acid when heated, but difficult to dissolve in other acids, and is almost insoluble in water, acetic acid, and alcohol. |
Product Standards | rivalent iron content: ≥ 29.0% (dihydrate), ≥ 36.0% (anhydrous) Divalent iron content: ≤ 10 ppm Sulfate: ≤ 15 ppm Ammonium (NH₄⁺): ≤ 15 ppm Calcium: ≤ 50 ppm Magnesium: ≤ 50 ppm Sodium: ≤ 100 ppm Potassium: ≤ 100 ppm Copper: ≤ 10 ppm Cadmium: ≤ 10 ppm Lead: ≤ 15 ppm Zinc: ≤ 15 ppm Tap density: 1.13 - 1.59 g/cm³ Fe:P = 0.97 - 1.02 (iron - phosphorus ratio) Particle size morphology: Spherical - like Particle size: D50 ≈ 3 - 5 μm The particle size distribution range must be within 0.1 μm - 10 μm; the maximum particle size must not be greater than 10 μm. |
